Global Young Innovators Initiative
Edison Joint Hands Communication
It is our mission to make an impact in the community of Bauchi, and the entire country of Nigeria. We want to help the families that have computers but are unable to use them due to mechanical issues. Some problems could take days to fix, and thus leaves families virtually isolated for long periods of time. Our team will fix this.
We pledge that we will give our best ideas to make Mohammed’s business grow. Giving the owner more opportunities to complete tasks faster will allow his business and others to have a faster and more steady income.
We are very happy to work with the computer repair business because Nigeria is a country that is well connected and we believe computers have a large impact in this. As Nigeria grows in both population and technological advancements, it is very important to have businesses that understand the way these work. Our team will give the best suggestions to fulfilling these needs so that all families can stay connected with others and have the freedom to learn anything they desire.
Together our group will grow the industry for computer repairs in Nigeria by making it both faster, and easier for the workers and customers. In doing so, we will allow for more use of computers and easier accessibility to them.
See how each day at the summit we are gaining new skills to assist our business partner and transform lives.

Story of the business
Muhammad Sani began working with the center in 2011. He was put in charge of website and software design. Sani graduated from Federal polytechnic Bauchi in the same year, where he read Computer science. Since then he has been with the center. He is the first born of his family of 5 children. His father is a civil servant married with one wife. His father sponsored his education through primary till he finished his higher education.
It was at this time that Leadership Initiatives took notice of Sani as a community leader and provided him with business management training along with a few additional skills from an LI hired computer trainer (although the trainer admits that Sani taught him a number of things as well) and with LI’s support found local funding to create a computer business center.
Sani has been able to assist his family financially because of the center. He enjoys working with the center. He sees it as an opportunity to boost his skills and enhance his potential. This has also exposed him to more opportunities and challenged him to seek more knowledge.
M.S Dauda provides the local community with low-cost computer training and repairs and has become a hub for computer training and printing service. Many Nigerian high school kids have had the opportunity of receiving low cost computer training during their summer break with M.S. Dauda. These services have allowed multiple families and individuals who couldn’t afford computer training in other high end schools to get the needed training. M.S is also training community members looking to develop their skills computer services so they can apply to the growing computer job market within Nigeria.
Because of the success of M.S computer training program, government agencies and schools have hired their services to provide low-cost training to their government officials, teachers and students. The demand is so high Muhammad and his team have traveled to 14 different areas within Bauchi state, providing computer training to over 200 people this year alone.
