Global Young Innovators Initiative
Carson Soap/Detergent Production Business
Our vision is that by the end of the GYII program, we will be able to create a stable foundation for our business partner so that they will be able to provide an education for their children as well as benefit the community that they live in. We want our partner to be able to grow their business too. By helping this one small business, the whole community in which it is located will be benefited. New jobs will be created, more people will be able to afford an education, and the overall quality of life in their community will be improved.
The mission we want to accomplish is first and foremost to help our business partner with their financing and making sure that their business is stable. We also want to create a logo to help advertise their company to the community so that more business is generated. Our business partner wants to expand and grow, and we want to put them in a place where they are able to do that. Their mission, is our mission.
Instead of patching up problems with temporary fixes, our team values long term solutions. Only donating money or supplies without improving the functionality and efficiency of the business would only create temporary relief until our donations ran out. By creating solutions that will benefit the business’s ability to support itself, the community’s growth will no longer be dependent on chance; but rather, will be stabilized by the solutions that we offer.
See how each day at the summit we are gaining new skills to assist our business partner and transform lives.

Story of the Business:
Falilat makes soap and detergent that can be used to wash plates, clothes and any dirty surface; her products are designed for use in households, hospitals, and even offices. Falilat has established partnerships with many local hospitals and offices, supplying them with soap and detergent on a regular basis. Rising demand among communities has also helped Falilat expand her distribution to individuals seeking quality soaps and detergents. Falilat is a hardworking mother of two. She studied chemistry at her local university, where she placed special focus on the chemistry of soaps and detergents. Driven by her newfound knowledge, she decided to open up her own soap production business. For the last three years of business, Falilat has been widely successful, allowing her to provide her children with a strong education.
Passionate about her work, Falilat strives to provide the best service to her clients with quality controlled products and prompt delivery. Although many members of the community rely on her services on a day to day basis, Falilat never disappoints. In addition to providing much needed soaps and detergents, Falilat seeks to improve the lives of others; she currently employs four members of her local community and seeks to help even more.
How We Are Transforming Soap/Detergent Production Business
And Changing The World
Our solutions stem from two areas that allow Falilat’s business to expand, which are advertising and finance.
One of the concerns that Falilat conveyed to us was that she needed assistance in book keeping. We wanted to benefit Falilat in a way in which she would not only be able to expand her business, but also have the tools to continue to independently run her company. To us, the best way to achieve this was to create a template and example that kept track of her inventory and transactions. She would then be able to refer to the example and recreate the template in the future.
Advertisement was another way in which Falilat wanted to expand her business. An innovative way in which we hope to satisfy this goal is to set up a partnership with the local tricycle/taxi services by giving them flags or banners to put on their bikes while they carried out their services. The flags would have a logo that we have designed for her company, as well as her contact information. The tricycle drivers would then give a flyer to their customers, and ask that the customers tell Falilat that they had referred them to her business. In return for their services, Falilat would give a discount or free gift of her soap for the tricycle drivers to wash their vehicles with.
