Global Young Innovators Initiative
Parks Soap/Detergent Production Business
It is our mission to help those in need around the world. This week our team will do that, by dedicating our time and efforts into Falilat’s business. By helping her business, the effects will also help her surrounding community.
Our focus is to spread awareness about her business in order to facilitate more income for her and her employees. With the money, our team will create advertisements, improve packaging, and present a new idea for the logo. We’re excited that an increase in profit can potentially aid Falilat in supporting her family, but equally honored to share this experience with her.
The topic in soap really peaked our interest because soap helps keep things hygienic and help prevent diseases. In a developing country like Nigeria, people focus on basic necessities rather than their desires. By providing soap to this community, we will give people power over their own health and wellness, and a chance to start working on other, more important, problems.
By improving the logo and packaging, the advertising will grow naturally, and even more with our new promoting ideas. The growth of the business will provide more jobs for locals which means more money for their families. Expansion of the business will be noticed by other local businesses such as hotels and shops, who are potential long business partners for Falilat. The money will eventually come through a whole circle, and benefit the entire community. By helping one community, others will learn and similar to dominoes, one soap business will affect the economy of an entire area.
See how each day at the summit we are gaining new skills to assist our business partner and transform lives.

Story of the Business:
Falilat makes soap and detergent that can be used to wash plates, clothes and any dirty surface; her products are designed for use in households, hospitals, and even offices. Falilat has established partnerships with many local hospitals and offices, supplying them with soap and detergent on a regular basis. Rising demand among communities has also helped Falilat expand her distribution to individuals seeking quality soaps and detergents. Falilat is a hardworking mother of two. She studied chemistry at her local university, where she placed special focus on the chemistry of soaps and detergents. Driven by her newfound knowledge, she decided to open up her own soap production business. For the last three years of business, Falilat has been widely successful, allowing her to provide her children with a strong education.
Passionate about her work, Falilat strives to provide the best service to her clients with quality controlled products and prompt delivery. Although many members of the community rely on her services on a day to day basis, Falilat never disappoints. In addition to providing much needed soaps and detergents, Falilat seeks to improve the lives of others; she currently employs four members of her local community and seeks to help even more.
How We Are Transforming Soap/Detergent Production Business
And Changing The World
In the process of enhancing the business of Falilat’s soap production several problems have been brought to light such as not having a business name, a logo, and also the need for news ways to advertise her company.
To resolve the issues of Falilat’s business, the Parks-Soap group decided that the first concern to be dealt with was the name of the business. The team came together to brainstorm company names. Numerous titles were proposed, such as Falilat’s Bubbles, Clean Machine, Soap’s Up, and Lather On.
Next, we designed multiple sketches for potential logos, so Fallat could have the opportunity to select her preferred logo for her business. Finally, after the name and logo was created, better ways of advertisement were needed to promote her company. Before teaming with Falilat, she would advertise her company by going door to door and messaging people. By putting our heads together, Park-Soap recommended new ways to promote her soap production business. Several ideas were suggested, such as designing stickers, flyers, and business cards in order to publicize her company.
