Global Young Innovators Initiative
DaVinci NEWco Welders Team
Our mission is to transform and better the world as much as possible. We will work tirelessly and effectively on any project we are presented with. We want to expand our perspective on a global scale and change communities across the world for the better.
Our team is dedicated and motivated to solving problems and helping people as much as possible. It is of the utmost importance to us that our business partner is able to provide his or her community with low-cost services and infrastructure, increasing the safety, security, and overall inner workings of communities across the world.
We were especially interested in taking on a welding project because of how extremely necessary welding is in Nigerian communities. There is astounding amounts of crime and very little by comparison in the way of security in Nigeria. Welding is essential in building security gates, doors, and various other metal machines and/or components that are necessary for safety. By providing for these human necessities, we will open the doors for this community and many others like it to start addressing other imminent problems.
We think that expanding and a business and apprenticeship program such as Hamza’s is a great place to start acting on these missions. Not only will Hamza and his staff provide the Bauchi State with a platform for structural improvement, but they will also provide future generations with the knowledge of a very necessary craft that will keep their state and their country safe for years to come.
See how each day at the summit we are gaining new skills to assist our business partner and transform lives.

Empowering the people of Yelwa with stronger gates, doors, windows and homes. To create stronger businesses for the community and build better lives by offering affordable, high quality welding services to those in need..
Story of the business
Hamza Ya’u, the son of a local farmer, was born in 1985 at Kofar Fada, but then later settled at Yelwa Markaranta of Bauchi. His father could not afford to send him or his thirteen siblings to school. Therefore, he spent most of his time helping his father on the farm during the rainy season.
The majority of people living in Yelwa are traditionally petty traders and subsistence farmers. The rate of poverty in Yelwa is high, while level of education and employment are low. The welding business has contributed to the development of Yelwa by providing affordable services and showing members of the community that it’s possible to learn the skills to open a business and secure gainful employment.
Hamza Welders currently employs seven people, including the business owner. The employees continue to acquire new skills and are also making a respectable living to support their families. Children who once needed to work can go to school.
The success of the welding business has led Hamza to develop an interest in assisting orphans and other children in the community with their education. By employing and caring for orphans, and helping them with their education, Hamza inspires those around him by trying to solve the problem of youth unemployment one small step at a time.
