2015 San Francisco Global Young Innovators Initiative Program
On July 22nd 2015, 24 high school students from around the world committed to transforming lives from across the globe by creating solutions for community-owned businesses.
We invite you to watch over the course of this week as students work with Envision and Leadership Initiatives staff, board members, mentors, and community leaders to forever change lives in developing nations.
By combining young minds and abilities with those of community entrepreneurs from around the world, these Global Young Innovators create and improve locally owned businesses in developing nations, while pushing one another to become stronger leaders at the community and international level.
Previous Global Young Innovators have created new feeding methods for fish farms in Birshi, developed new water purification methods, taught advanced welding techniques and streamlined tailoring shop assembly lines, transforming hundreds of lives.

Global Young Innovators Initiative Team Pages
Students partnering with Raniu Hassan’s electrical repair business will help to review and improve current safety measures, as well as identify other safety measure that need to be in place. In addition, students will explore better marketing and advertisement strategies. Raniu would also like assistance with efficient and effective re-training of employees on house wiring.
Students will partner this week with Muhannad Shehu’s irrigation farm to explore new marketing and advertisement strategies and ways to current skills and techniques, as well as better ways to dry and package crops.
Students who partner with Fatima’s salon will work with her on marketing strategies and newer hairstyles to stand out from competition. Also, since much of the business is when there are local celebrations or festivals, Fatima and her employees would like to find ways to attract customers during the slower times of the seasons.
Students partnered with Hamza’s welding shop will explore possible ways to train employees in new welding techniques. In addition, they will focus on improving marketing and advertisement strategies for the business. Hamza would also like to increase his and his employees’ English communication skills.
