Personal Story of Muhammed Auwal, an employee of Gimbiya Photo Studio:
Muhammed M. Auwal, is another employee of Umar Inuwa. He is 14 years old and in Senior secondary school, JSS1 (i.e. first year of high school). He lives with his parents in Bayara community where he met with Umar and because his parents could not afford to send him to school, Umar – LI photo studio beneficiary took upon himself the education of Muhammed and gave him a place in the photo studio to work and be trained on photography.
From the N300 (USD$ 1.84) @ $1 =N163 Muhammed has been able to help with some little expenses in his family and also for himself. His education is being taken care of and his family is happy that he will be a great help to them tomorrow.
Muhammed plans continue working in the photo shop until he finishes his secondary school education. Then he will decide what to do from there.
Personal Story of Buhari Danladi, a child attending school:
Buhari Danladi, Buhari is a 16 year old boy who works with Umar Inuwa in his photo studio as an apprentice. Buhari lost his father – who was Umar Inuwa’s brother some years ago and has since been living with his Uncle, Umar with his 3 little siblings. He is the eldest of his father’s children and the only one old enough to be of help to his Uncle Umar in the photo studio.
Since Buhari started leaving with his Uncle and working in the Photo studio, he has had opportunities and exposures that he hitherto had not had. Umar enrolled him in school; presently he is in SS 1 (Senior secondary school i.e. senior year of high school). Every day after school he goes to the shop to begin his work and he receives a daily allowance of N300 (USD$ 1.84) @ $1 =N163. With this stipend, he is able to meet some of his basic needs; which are not much since he and his siblings are totally taken care of by Umar – their education, shelter, clothing and feeding.
Buhari plans to continue working with his Uncle till he graduates from secondary school and possibly goes to the university where he can use the skills he’s acquired to further support himself and build his own future just like his Uncle did.

From the little Babaginda makes from the Photo studio, he helps to take care of his family. Babangida plans to save some money from his work in the studio to support himself in the higher institution and also to be able to someday open his own photoshop.
Umar will always owe the growth and initiation of his business to his secondary school friend Muhammad Auwal, who taught him how to take pictures and videos when he was in JSS 1, then he developed a passion for photography and saved up some money to buy his first camera- which was an analogue camera. Since then Umar has worked to grow his business and improve his skills in every way possible. He is also very glad that LI chose him as one of the beneficiaries to impact. Umar says for this his life has taken a great turn.
