Our goal is to ameliorate the circumstances of our global business partners. Together, we will put our full efforts into helping the Orphan Care Program expand and develop in spite of their geographical and financial obstacles. With this in mind, we envision a lasting impact being created on the lives of the people we are partnered with, and the community as a whole. In addition to building upon what tools the Orphanage already utilizes , we plan on transforming the lives of the workers and the orphans entirely. Not only will we attempt to fix temporary issues, we are keen on our ideas having a permanent lasting impact on the program for the best. The unique experience that we receive in the next several months will not only set us up well for our college education and careers, it transform us emotionally and allow us to be fully invested in the businesses we are partnered with. Taking on the project of developing the Orphan care program is particularly appealing to us, because of the magnitude of the lasting impact we can make on the current orphan’s lives and the orphans to come. We believe that teaching them English and providing for accelerated programs and the right tools to succeed will transform their futures and the future of the country as a whole. With the utilization of English, the children will be able to thrive in the business world, on a local and eventually global level. Once the children have the right knowledge to succeed, providing the tools they need to establish themselves is essential, and what we plan on bringing to the table for these kids. With our efforts to building upon these facets of the Orphan Care Program, we know that the organization will be changed permanently for the best, and continue to grow exponentially.

Provide Orphans with the skills necessary to become full participants in the local economy. Ensure the orphans have a stable home life to thrive in. Give LI Business Owners the chance to give back to their community.
The Orphan Independence and Skills Program was originally developed in response to request from LI Business Owners. Once they had gotten their own business off the ground, they wanted to give back to the community by taking in orphans. To ensure that all of the orphans taken in were treated well and working towards mastery of a skill, LI began the Orphan Independence and Skills Program to establish a set of best practices for all participants. The Orphan Independence and Skills Program is designed to provide orphans with the necessary training to become full participants in their communities. The LI Businesses that participate in the Orphan Independence and Skills Program (OISP) have a contractual arrangement with Leadership Initiatives to provide life skills to the orphans they take in. After receiving initial training from Leadership Initiatives, there is ongoing oversight of all participating businesses to ensure the orphans are cared for. To ensure this Leadership Initiatives staff: Track of the orphans taken in by LI Business Owners. Give periodic visits to ensure the orphans are being fed, well clothed, and provided for. Ensure that orphans have the opportunity to participate in a skills training program of a business or trade they wish to work in. L.I. staff establish a skills curriculum for each participate which they must progress through during the course of their apprenticeships. Set apprentice wages that allow the orphans to earn income while learning a skill.
